Background
Since 1999, Stored Energy Technology Limited has been engaged in research and development of very high efficiency drive systems for trams and light rail vehicles.

Patents have been obtained for ‘Wheel-Motor’ drives and steering systems.

In May 2001 S.E.T. moved to new purpose-built premises, Atlas Works, in the heartland of Derby’s rail industry. Atlas Works is complete with it’s own purpose built test pit.

Atlas Works is shared with S.E.T.’s associate company G.G.S. Engineering (Derby) Ltd. who provide a full engineering, machining and fabrication facility.

Stored Energy Technology Limited are now producing ‘Wheel-Motors’ and spin-off technology such as frequency converters and inverters, all developed during the R & D phase at Atlas Works.
